When in Rome...
"...Yes? Please go on..."
So here we have it.. the final stop of my trip. After not knowing where to finish my trip, about a week or two before leaving, I had finally decided to go meet up with my cousins Leo and Dimitra in Rome. I really wasn't there for long so I don't have much to say about it.. espescially since I've already been; the only reason why I really went to Rome was to go meet my cousins and to have a good pizza with prosciutto and mozzarella di buffala... MMmmmmmmm...
The two days I was there pretty much consisted of walking around the city, like usual, and checking out the Colleseum, Palatine Hill and the Trevi Fountain again. That fountain just never ceases to amaze me.
The night I arrived, we went for supper with some of my cousins friends and their local friends... OMG! After 4 weeks of travelling, I totally forgot what a REAL meal tasted like... It was SOOOOOO good. And I'm just talking about the Antipasto. I can still taste the prosciutto and the mmmm. bocconcini.. in my mouth.
The night after, Leo and I went on... yes... the Rome Pub Crawl. Hey, when in Rome, right? It was pretty cool to be out partying with my cousin in none other than Italy. Something that probably wont happen in the very near future again.
The night after was filled with more sightseeing and obviously, before leaving for Paris to catch my plane back to Montreal, I got to have my Italian Napolitan-style Pizza with Prosciutto and Mozzarella di Buffala... That just hit the spot. At that moment, my trip was complete and I was finally ready to come home.
Recap of the Trip:
Most Memorable Moment: Hiking on the Great Wall of China
Most Surprising City: Edinburgh
Favorite City of the Trip: Edinburgh
Most Recurring Movie Quotes: Anything from Anchorman. No matter what country I was in, someone said something that referred to that movie.
Most Recurring Song: Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi. I heard that song in every country I visited, including China.
Best Meal: The Antipasto at some Italian restaurant in Rome
Worst Meal: First meal we had in Shanghai. Always make sure you go to a restaurant with a menu in english or with pictures. If not, make sure you go with people with more than 1 day of mandarin classes completed. :P
Most Odd thing I ate: Haggis. Bits of Sheep cooked inside a sheeps stomach... it was actually pretty good, but still weird.
Most Disgusting Think I saw: Seeing a little Chinese girl pee in the middle of the Train Station.
Funniest Moment: Seeing Chinese people sing Kareoke... Everyone's gotta witness it at least once. :P

So- you went to Rome for a pizza. I think that's the equivalent of me going to New York for shoes. Welcome to the extravagant neurotics club :)
AND to go see my cousins.... don't forget that one...
